Advanced Technology at Image Eyecare Optometry

We provide the highest quality eye care by incorporating the most advanced technologies available. Our investment in innovative tools and treatments ensures that you receive the most accurate diagnoses and effective treatments. Here’s a closer look at the advanced technology we offer at Image Eyecare Optometry.

Light Modulation Low-Level Light Therapy (LM LLLT)

One of the innovative treatments we are proud to offer is Light Modulation Low-Level Light Therapy (LM LLLT). Originally developed by NASA, this technology uses LED light to stimulate your skin cells, promoting healing and reducing inflammation. LM LLLT is particularly effective for treating sensitive areas around the eyes and face, offering a painless and quick solution for conditions like inflammation, bacterial infections, and swelling.

  • Red Light Therapy: Reduces inflammation and stimulates cellular energy production, making it ideal for calming irritated skin.
  • Blue Light Therapy: Targets and eliminates harmful bacteria, making it effective in treating skin conditions caused by bacterial infections.

Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) Therapy for Dry Eye

Another advanced technology available at our practice is Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) Therapy. IPL is a non-invasive treatment that uses light pulses to target the underlying causes of dry eye disease. By improving the function of the meibomian glands and reducing inflammation, IPL offers lasting relief for those suffering from chronic dry eye

Optomap Retinal Imaging System

Our practice uses the Optomap retinal imaging system to capture ultra-widefield images of the retina. This advanced technology allows us to view up to 80% of your retina in a single image, providing a comprehensive view that is essential for early detection of eye conditions:

  • Comprehensive Retinal View: Optomap offers a much wider view of the retina compared to traditional methods, helping us detect issues like retinal detachments, tears, and other retinal diseases early.
  • Non-Invasive and Comfortable: The process is quick and painless, requiring no dilation in most cases, making it a comfortable experience for patients.

Visionix for Vision Analysis

We also feature the Visionix diagnostic system, which combines several key eye tests into one compact device. Visionix allows us to perform a detailed analysis of your vision and eye health with remarkable precision:

  • Wavefront Analysis: Visionix provides detailed information about the optical qualities of your eye, allowing us to tailor your vision correction with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Corneal Topography: This feature helps us map the surface curvature of your cornea, which is crucial for fitting contact lenses and diagnosing conditions like keratoconus.
  • Eye pressure: This test checks your intraocular pressure using a gentle puff of air.  It is an important screening test for risk of glaucoma disease.
  • Ocular Angle: This feature measures the space between your cornea and iris through which the intraocular fluid drains.  If this space is too narrow and at risk for sudden closure, the fluid will accumulate inside your eye, resulting in sudden increase in intraocular pressure, causing a Glaucoma attack and permanent vision loss.  Therefore, it is also an important screening test for Glaucoma disease during your routine eye exam at our office.

Humphrey Visual Field Analyzer

The Humphrey Visual Field Analyzer is a gold standard in assessing your peripheral vision, which is essential for detecting conditions like glaucoma and other neurological issues:

  • Early Glaucoma Detection: The Humphrey Visual Field Analyzer helps us catch glaucoma early by identifying subtle changes in your peripheral vision.
  • Comprehensive Vision Assessment: This tool provides a thorough analysis of your visual field, ensuring we have a complete understanding of your eye health.
